FAITH AND FREEDOM MAY NOT HAVE BEEN BORN TOGETHER, BUT THEIR MARRIAGE BUILT AMERICA AND DIVORCING THE TWO WOULD BE ITS DEMISE.
Faith and freedom can and have existed separate and apart from one another. However, the genius of our founding fathers was their understanding of the monumental strength derived from combining the two. Neither could reach its full potential for guiding a nation without the other.
Faith could not be used improperly to impose one person’s will on another. However, freedom was not a license to allow one person to destroy the faith of another. To begin to unravel the thread of faith in the fabric of society was to begin to unravel the thread of freedom. The reverse was equally true.
THE DEFENSE OF FAITH HAS FALLEN PRIMARILY TO THE CHURCHES BUT THEY HAVE BEEN ILL-EQUIPPED TO DEVELOP A WINNING STRATEGY.
For the most part, the defense of faith in America has fallen on the churches but the churches were not structurally designed to deal with the current threat. The greatest threat to faith in America today is a strategic threat. It is well-planned, well-funded, well-organized, and well-executed. Churches do many things well but strategy is not one of those things.
Even for those who have the wisdom to see the dangers of the anti-faith efforts, there has been little strategic vision for how to respond. Without that vision, we are told “the people perish.”
THE ROAD WE ARE ON AS A NATION IS NOT INEVITABLE. WE CAN CHANGE IT, BUT IT WILL REQUIRE THE RIGHT STRATEGY.
A good strategy must start with a vision and the vision needs to make clear what you are doing, why you are doing it, and then inspire people to make it a reality.
The goal is very simple: We must “Keep Faith in America.” Why? Because when you unravel the thread of faith in America, you unravel the thread of freedom. When you protect the fabric of faith, you protect the fabric of freedom.
Our strategy is to initiate LIFFT America (Leaders Inspiring Faith and Freedom to America) to Reduce Animosity, Restore Civility, and Protect the Role of Faith.
